Using this table/chart, we can calculate the hourly output of each nail size based on the speed of one model wire nail making machine.
For example, the nail making machine model Z94-4C can produce up to 260 pieces per minute. This model can make nails ranging from 1-4 inches (including 2 and 3-inch nails). The speed of the machine remains fixed regardless of the size of the nails being produced. Therefore, we can calculate its output for an 8-hour workday using this information:
- For 2-inch nails: 260 (nail quantity per minute) x 60 (minutes) x8 (hours) / 414 (414 numbers 2-inch nails is 1 kg)=301 kg
- For 4-inch nails: 260 (nail quantity per minute) x 60 (minutes) x 8 (hours) / 80 (80 pcs 4-inch nails is 1 kg) =1560 kg
With the Z94-4C model machine, you can produce 301 kg of 2-inch nails or 1560 kg of 4-inch nails in 8 hours.
However, the output for Z94-3C will be higher because its speed of 320 pcs/min is greater than that of 4C.
The output of 3C for 2-inch and 3-inch nails will be:
- For 2-inch nails: 320 (nail quantity per minute) x 60 (minutes) x8 (hours) / 414 (414 numbers 2-inch nails is 1 kg) = 370 kg
- For 3 inch nails:360 (nail quantity per minute) x 60 (minutes) x8 (hours) / 148 (148 numbers 3 inch nails is 1 kg)= 1167 kg
